Project Partner Kickoff Meeting
Date: August 8th, 2005
Time: 5:00 - 6:30
Location: Fremont City Hall

This was the first meeting of the project partners. Project partners and LIAA: Reviewed the Partnerships for Change proposal and the Joint Municipal Planning Act; Discussed issues and concerns; Reviewed and discussed the project work plan; and reached an agreement to add more members to the planning group.

- 2 members from the planning commission of each jurisdiction
- 2 Board/Council representatives from each jurisdiction

Project Partner Meeting Two

Location: Fremont City Hall

The second meeting of the project parters included the additional representatives from each jurisdiction. The larger group: Reviewed the Partnerships for Change proposal and the Joint Municipal Planning Act; Discussed issues and concerns; and reviewed and discussed the project work plan.

Members of LIAA met with the Planning Commission and Council/Board of each jurisdiction to discuss the Partnerships for Change Project.


Project Partner Meeting Three
Date: November, 14, 2005
Time: 5:00 - 6:30
Location: Sheridan Charter Township Hall

At the third project partner meeting, LIAA staff presented the results from each individual meeting and discussed the differences between the Municipal Planning Act and the Township Planning Act. LIAA also distributed several maps. Please use the links below to view each map.
Project partners were then instructed to review and respond to a set of 12 questions concerning a Joint Planning Commission agreement/ordinance for the next meeting.

Project Partner Meeting Four
Date: December 12, 2005
Time: 5:00 - 6:30
Time: Dayton Township Hall

Project partners discussed, deliberated, and established the intitial guidelines (agreement/ordinance) for a Joint Planning Commission. LIAA staff agreed to develop and distribute a draft Joint Municiapl Planning Commission agreement for the next day.

Project Partner Meeting Five
Date: January 9, 2006
Time: 5:00 - 6:30
Location: Sherman Township Hall

Each local jurisdiction provided comments and suggestions on the draft Joint Planning Commission Agreement prior to the meeting. At the meeting project partners reviewed and discussed each comments. LIAA members agreed to re-draft the agreement, including new comments and suggestions for the next meeting.

Project Partner Meeting Six
Date: February 13, 2006
Time: 5:00 - 6:30
Location: Fremont City Hall

Meeting participants reviewed and discussed comments and suggested changes to the Joint Planning Committee Agreement included those focused around operating procedures, removal from office, filling of vacancies, and the operating budget. Finally, meeting participants discussed the future need for public information and education.

At the meeting project partners reviewed and discussed each comments. LIAA members agreed to re-draft the agreement, including new comments and suggestions for the next meeting.

Project Partner Meeting Seven
Date: March 13, 2006
Time: 5:00 - 6:30
Location: Fremont City Hall

The seventh project meeting provided participants with an opportunity to review and discuss the basis for which the Joint Planning Committee would be created. In addition, meeting participants discussed and reviewed specific language in the agreement, including the budget, discussed the transition process of the Joint Planning Committee and discussed planning efforts for public information and education efforts.

Special Subcommittee Project Partner Meeting
Date: Tuesday, March 28, 2006
Time: 9:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m.
Location: Samuels Restaurant:

The purpose of this meeting will be to describe the current processes in each of the governmental units for planning & zoning administration. This information will help us understand what issues we need to address to
ensure a smooth transition. An agenda will be sent before the subcommittee meeting that outlines the specific processes (special uses, text amendments, etc.) that we will need to address at the subcommittee meeting. The following people are to be a part of this subcommittee:
All the zoning administrators, the township supervisors/city mayor,
Chuck Witteveen, and Michele Ribant.




Project Partner Meeting Eight
Date: April 10, 2006
Time: 5:00 - 6:30
Location: Sheridan Charter Township Hall

This meeting provided an opportunity to further discuss the final language and implementation of the joint municipal planning commission agreement. Participants were also provided an opprtunity to discuss potential education opportunities and materials. The committee agreed to establish a education subcommitee to discuss such issues. The subcommitee will meet 1:00p.m. Tuesday, April 18th at Samuels resturant.
